Valentine’s Day Cards for Nursing Homes

Valentine’s day is right around the corner!  Starting Monday, February 4,  there will be Valentine’s Day box at the front so that the children can turn in their colored cards.  To save paper, we are attaching printable cards for parents/teachers to print out.  The kids can choose one or do all four; it is up to them!
All the cards collected will be delivered to local nursing homes; they will be delivered on February 14th.
Happy coloring!

Character Parade is Coming!

This year, PGE will host a school-wide Storybook Character Parade on Friday, October 26th, at 8:30am.  Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite story book characters.  Each class will walk in the parade, and parents are welcome to attend.  Students may choose any character from a book they enjoy, following the guidelines in this letter.  To support students’ feelings of safety and security in our building, violent or frightening costumes are not acceptable.  No weapons or dangerous-looking items will be permitted to accompany a costume.  Here are some examples of acceptable costume choices, and some examples of unacceptable choices.

Acceptable Examples Unacceptable Examples

 Fancy Nancy Characters from Goosebumps

Cinderella, Snow White, etc. Vampires

Greg Heffley (the Wimpy Kid) Grim Reaper

The parade will take place on the hardtop on the playground.  Parents are welcome to stand around the hard top to take pictures – you will not need to sign in through the front desk for this event, unless you plan to sign your child out from school after the parade.  PM PreK/PPCD students will have a smaller parade in the afternoon.  Please talk with your child about how he or she would like to participate in this event, and mark your calendars!  See your child’s teacher for further information.

Community Partners – Serving Our Community

Community Partners – Serving our Community

Gaining a Servant’s Heart

by Robin McGuire

Community Service is the work that is done without pay to help others.  Our goal this year is to teach and grow our children by providing opportunities for them to be hands on and involved in the process of serving our community.  In addition, by volunteering, we hope to teach teamwork, leadership, communication, timeliness, and grace.   Last, we want them to have a servant’s heart that they can go to middle school, high school, and continue to be a community service leader.  Throughout this year, we have several events scheduled that will involve our children at each grade level.    All children and parents will be able to sign up and be a part of our mission.

Our first program begins next month with the Cups for Charity Program.  We hope that you and your Cougar Cubs will participate in supporting Fort Bend Family Promise.   Need more info? Want to get involved? Contact Robin McGuire at
