Attention Male Role Models!
Summer has blasted by as it usually does and we are fast approaching day 1 of yet another school year. With the transition to a PTO, we are dropping the branded Watch D.O.G.S. program and setting up our very own Cougar Cub Patrol. Although we will align ourselves closely with the core values of the WD program, we can’t maintain our fiscal stewardship in the PTO and continue to pay for the associated costs of the WD brand. Our main goal with the Cougar Cub Patrol will be to ensure our children have active positive role models at home and at school and promote a sense of safety and security as a result of that active participation.
3. Although we had some great participation last year, we have a ton of room for improvement and in order for that to happen, I am going to need some help from some of the other Dad’s to help organize and operate the new program, so if you are interested in helping me out, please let me know and I will fill you in on the areas we need the most help.
4. For our first event, we are looking at having as many Dads as we can “High Five” and help out the kiddos during the Car rider line on on Friday, August 17. If you are interested, please let me know along with your shirt size and I will sign you up and work with the PTO to get you a specially designed Cougar Cub Patrol T-Shirt. More details to follow. Reminder: You must have completed your volunteer paperwork to participate.
5. On top of that, I am planning on trying to host a social event at one of our local restaurants or “watering holes” in the near future. Let me know if any of you have any good hook-ups with any of our awesome local establishments and we will see what we can do to set something up. I can think of a few good places to go, but I want to solicit some ideas from the masses.
Finally… I want this to be another awesome year for the kiddos and can’t wait to see what we can do to help make that happen. I know the Boss Lady (Principal Riha), has charged the teachers and staff at PGE to do some great work this year and our PTO ladies are already killing it. We need to do what we can just to keep up!
